Status update is used to inform your network about exciting things that happen in your professional life, sort of &#8220;news update&#8221; &#8211; new achievements, accomplishments, etc. Different people use it in different ways:<\/p>\n<p>* To promote their blogs<\/p>\n<p>* New products offering<\/p>\n<p>* etc&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>The Status update feature, allows you to be and stay &#8220;top of mind&#8221; with your network, in addition to the other features, which Linkedin is updating your network automatically with:<\/p>\n<p>* New Connections<\/p>\n<p>* New position or job<\/p>\n<p>* Group activity<\/p>\n<p>* and of course &#8211; the <a title=\"Linkedin Tip #2 \u2013 Use Apps to enhance your profile\" href=\"http:\/\/www.razchorev.com\/2010\/03\/03\/linkedin-tip-2-use-apps-to-enhance-profile\/\" target=\"_blank\">3rd party Apps<\/a> available.<\/p>\n<p>A few days ago Linkedin has expanded the functionality of the Status Update feature, which now allows you to include news articles \u00a0and other links.
